About Us

The Irish Blues Club was formed in September of 1995 to provide a mutual support system for Irish blues musicians. Since that date they have been running gigs to raise the necessary funds to produce CD's which demonstrates the quality and diversity of Irish blues music.

The members of The Irish Blues Club entertain thousands of music fans throughout the length and breadth of Ireland and beyond. Since being established, The Irish Blues Club has been active in promoting and supporting Irish Blues artists, providing many with their first CD release on the original compilation "Forty Shades of Blue" in 1996. That album brought together 16 tracks from working Irish Blues artists performing electric and acoustic blues, including many original tracks.

The club has maintained interest from musicians and audiences at their highly popular Tuesday night gigs in Dublin's J.J. Smyths, through which they have financed the CD "Forty Shades of Blue Volume II". With 19 tracks and several new artists this second CD is a testament to the enduring quality of Irish Blues.
